What is your cancellation/missed appointment policy?
I require a 24-hour notice for all cancellations. Failure to cancel within that time frame results in a charge of your full session fee.
Are telephone sessions available if I am not able to make my appointment in person?
Yes, I am able to do phone sessions if you are unable to attend a session.
If distance counseling is a preference for you, I am able to offer video and/or telephone sessions for residents of Florida and Wisconsin. Please look under the Video/Telephone Sessions section of this website for additional information.
What are the confidentiality standards you are required to meet?
Hipaa law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without a client’s written permission. Exceptions to this law include the following:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
